Chanel Sunglasses
Chanel is a Parisian fashion house in France founded by Coco Chanel in 1909.
In 1909 Coco Chanel started her fashion career with a millinery shop called "Chanel Modes" in Paris. Her hats were worn by famous French actresses who helped establish her famous fashion reputation. Then by 1915 Chanel had introduced women's sportswear, made popular for changes in lifestyles from WWI. Coal was scarce and women were taking on factory jobs while the men were at war. They needed warm clothing that would stand up to working conditions. Her clothes of this time period were also greatly affected by the relatively new idea of women's sports. Chanel has continued in that trend, producing sports clothing, accessories, and equipment even more so today.
In 1921 Chanel introduced the now famous Chanel No 5 perfume. It was a popular product of high society and, was the beginning of Chanel being known as a luxury brand.
In Coco Chanel died, ending an era of revolutionary fashion that would still be the classic model fashion designers today.
In 1983 Karl Lagerfeld appointed as the "Artistic Director" for Chanel. Over the years Lagerfeld added more fragrances, perfumes and fashions to the Chanel fashion line.
